At the turn of the 20th century Rolex founder, Hans Wilsdorf, dreamed of creating a watch that could be worn on the wrist, and whose reliability could match its aesthetic appeal. Wilsdorf began to fit his watches with very and very accurate small Swiss movements. Rolex soon gained the Swiss Certificate for Chronometric Precision in 1910 and a Class ‘A’ Precision certificate in 1914 in recognition of this.

This lady’s stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual has a stainless steel case and stainless steel Oyster bracelet. It is fitted with an automatic chronometer, self-winding movement and the copper coloured dial is clear and unbroken by the omission of a date feature. It was originally purchased in 1998 from Jamieson & Carry, Aberdeen and is complete with box and papers.
