During the 1970’s Omega was faced with a new emerging watch market of less expensive quartz powered watches, especially from Japanese watch brands. They responded by creating their own quartz watches, however Omega’s heritage lay with mechanical, and so the Geneve was introduced. A classic presentation watch, the Geneve it had a broad audience and played to Omegas strength of creating high quality mechanical watches.
This gentleman’s Omega Geneve is fitted on a stainless steel bracelet and has a 35mm case housing an automatic movement with quick date change. The silver coloured dial features a date window at 3 o’clock and baton markers. This watch comes complete with box and paperwork and dates from 1973.
