Gent’s stainless steel Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional, 3188.8.131.52.01.005. Mechanical manual wind movement. Complete with special presentation box and papers, dated 2018.
The Speedmaster: the one and only watch to travel to the moon. On the 20th of July 1969, after eight years of great effort and $20 billion of investment, the Eagle, carrying Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin, landed on the moon with the whole world watching in awe. On a mission of such great importance, the timepieces these men were wearing needed to be robust and extremely accurate. NASA chose the Omega Speedmaster for this task, and ever since this model has been part of all six lunar missions making it an icon for collectors and enthusiasts. The model offered here shares many characteristics with the original Moonwatch; with plexi-glass and the same manual-wind chronograph movement.
This gent’s stainless steel Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional is on a stainless steel bracelet. At the heart of the 42mm case is an Omega 1861 calibre, manual wind chronograph movement. The black baton dial features three time registers with a black bezel with tachymetric scale. This timepiece comes with a special presentation box containing a NATO strap, Velcro scrap, strap-changing tool, eyeglass and a book outlining the fascinating history of the Speedmaster. The watch is complete with its original papers as well as the box and is a 2016 model.
