Gent’s stainless steel TAG Heuer Monaco, ref.: CAW211P. Automatic / self-winding chronograph movement, caliber 11. Complete with original box and paperwork, dated 2019. Unworn condition.
Certain watches achieve iconic status simply because they were once worn by an icon; take the Rolex Daytona and Paul Newman, for example. In this instance, the on-screen and on-track legend, Steve McQueen, was responsible for securing the (TAG) Heuer Monaco’s place in horological history by choosing it for use in his classic film, ‘Le Mans’. A groundbreaking watch in it’s own right - as the first automatic chronograph, square-cased chronograph and water-resistant square-cased watch ever made - the Monaco was designed to challenge the traditions and parameters of Swiss watchmaking in every possible way. This modern re-issue of the 1969 Heuer Monaco Calibre 11 is the most faithful representation of the original watch we have yet seen and is truly breathtaking to behold.
This gent’s TAG Heuer Monaco has a 39mm fine-brushed and polished stainless steel square case with curved sapphire crystal glass and is water resistant to 100m. It features a matte blue dial with luminous silver hour/minute hands and red seconds hand, silver subdials with black hands, luminous white dot and red square markers, painted radial minuterie, horizontal baton markers and a date window at six o’clock. The watch is powered by a Heuer Calibre 11 self-winding automatic chronograph movement and is fitted to a perforated black leather strap with folding clasp. This watch comes complete with original box and paperwork, dated 2019.
