Based in Wales, Clogau jewellery has been handcrafted to the finest detail and each piece contains a touch of rare Welsh gold mined from St David’s mine in North Wales.

Once one of the largest mines producing gold in the Dolegallau area, the Clogau St David’s mine was in production for many years until its closure in 1911. With gold supply becoming increasingly more difficult to locate the mine was redundant until 1989 when William Roberts began a small scale mining process in the hope of locating more gold.

Over several years a small stockpile of this rare Welsh gold was extracted before the mine was eventually closed, ensuring the rarity of this Welsh gold. Launching with just 5 pieces of jewellery in 1989, 25 years later Clogau is sold worldwide in many leading stores even offering a bespoke service. In these 25 years the Clogau brand has dedicated itself to creating stunning handcrafted jewellery using the rare Welsh gold which has been a luxury choice of many, including Royalty.
