Breitlng...How They're Made

Brietling have been leaders in their field since 1884, creating some of the world’s most impressive and recognisable watches. From the Navitimer, a true pilots watch, to the Superocean, a must have partner to any diver. Their extensive and impressive collection has something to suit anyone’s needs

So how are they created?

The Movement. Breitling are one of the only watch manufacturers in the world who certify all of their watch movements as chronometer rated. To put this in perspective of all the watches that are made in Switzerland, only 5% achieve this impressive title. By subjecting the movement to rigorous testing over 15 days and nights, it must achieve a 99.9% degree of accuracy to accomplish chronometer status.

A specialist in chronographs, Breitling have been integral to the creation of many of the modern push piece movements, even creating the first self-winding chronograph. Of recent they have achieved further technical excellence by manufacturing their own chronograph movement, of which they are so confident in that the movements come complete with an impressive 5 year warranty.

Case. Designed with technical precision, each Breitling watch case is developed to survive in the worlds most extreme conditions. Made from premium materials such as 316 antimagnetic stainless steel alloy, or grade 2 titanium each case has been rigorously tested to ensure the protection of the watch.

Dial. Often the first thing you look at on a watch, the dial can be as equally as important as the movement housed within. With meticulous design and finishing, Breitling dials are created using cutting-edge production techniques always with optimal readability in mind.

Hands. With an incredible amount of care and attention attributed to every small detail of a Brietling watch, the hands are certainly no different. From the delicate task of creating the Breitling B on the chronograph seconds hand, to mastering the finesse of the finishing process, each hand is created with meticulous attention to detail.

Crystal. All Brietling watches are fitted with one of the hardest materials after diamond, sapphire, which is utilised in the creation of sapphire crystal glass. Extremely sturdy and optimised for readability by glare-proofing each side, which removes 99% of reflection seen by the naked eye, the sapphire crystal glass is created using a variety of technical procedures.

Bracelets.A Breitling watch is further distinguished by their creation of robust and high-end bracelets. Comfortable, yet sturdy, a Breitling bracelet can withstand variable forces of traction and torsion, met by the watch in everyday life.

Brietling create each bracelet by utilising high end technologies and production methods, before hand-polishing each link and hand-assembling the finished bracelet.

Fused a temperatures reaching 3400°C, guaranteeing robustness, each bracelet is fitted with a stamped clasp and solid endpieces which enhance durability.
