The Seiko community loves to nickname popular dive watches. This Prospex is no different, with not one, but two! “King Turtle” in reference to the shape of its shell-like case, and “Grenade” referring to the Khaki green waffle-patterned dial.

Seiko reintroduced their much loved “Turtle” dive watches in 2016. While retaining the aesthetics of the original, the new models undertook further upgrades in 2020. With the introduction of the ceramic bezel and silicone strap, Seiko have guaranteed that the “King Turtle” gives its Swiss dive watch counterparts a serious run for their money.

Powered by the self-winding 4R36 movement, with a power reserve of 41 hours, the “King Turtle” has pulled off the almost impossible trick of evolving without really changing at all.
